MicroPOPNA is an app. It is a self contained solution for creating, deploying and analysing large and small surveys. It was designed with disaster settings in mind, but can be used for other types of surveys as well.
MicroPOPNA consists of 10 modules
Design is used to create or edit the questionnaire used for interviewing. Questionnaires are divided into sections, such as housing, damages from the disaster, or household economy. MicroPOPNA supports standard questionnaires that function as libraries, and the user can select whole sections or individual questions from a library to create the questionnaire used for interviewing.
MicroPOPNA supports several data types: whole numbers, decimal numbers, discrete data, string, time, date, GPS coordinates, picture. It has facilities for handling multiple choice and ranking.
Manage is used to organize a survey and distribute tasks to interviewers.
Sample is used to enter or read in a sampling frame, and draw a sample. It supports stratification and clustering.
List is used to create lists of households in survey clusters, so that samples can be drawn from each cluster.
Interview is used for carrying out the actual interview.
Track is used to keep track of the survey process. It creates statistics over the interview process and tracks non response.
Transfer is used to transfer information between tablets, and to the cloud.
Analyse is used to create a basic tabulation of the results of the survey.
The complexity can be hidden
When using several devices one will be the master tablet, and the other servants. The master will have access to all functions, but the servants will only have the functions they need.
